I LOVE my Skype! I think you'll love Skype, too.
I bought a chat headset to create mp3 files and now I get to make phone calls. I get all the outgoing calls I want to make (within reason) using my Skype service. I took the limited deal at $29.00 and I'm not sure how long that deal will last. I absolutely love it! Calls between Skype users are free and there is also a chat mode.

Palm PDAs
If you're traveling a lot and you need a cell phone then you'll want one that can connect to your computer and get your schedule. I've been using Palm for a number of years and I love it. It's compatible with Macs and PCs and it does many more things than just manage your schedule and allow you chat on your cell.
